Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide excellent service through trauma informed practices and to empower our clients with knowledge and skills they can use post litigation.

Our Core Values

Integrity

We are dependable by consistently doing what we say we will do, when we say we will do it. We act within our core values.

Diligence

The litigation process is hard on individuals and families.  We work to reduce the length of time clients remain in unresolved conflict and litigation.

Respect

We treat all people with respect. This includes our clients, opposing parties, opposing attorneys and court staff.

Vision
Communication

We communicate regularly and respond promptly to clients.

Advocate

We advocate for the safety, stability and well-being of our clients and their children.  As needed, we act as a barrier between our client and the opposing party.

Kindness

We recognize each person coming through our office has their own lived experiences. We endeavor to provide a safe space for our clients to address their legal needs. We respond to our clients with kindness.

We recognize that when children are involved, the parties will continue to have some contact well beyond the end of litigation.  We strive to model healthy problem solving, boundary setting and communication skills. We prioritize the long-term wellbeing of the client and children over short-term wins.

Experience

Amy earned her bachelors’ degree in economics from the University of Utah.  She then attended Gonzaga School of Law where she earned her law degree and graduated cum laude.  Amy has been practicing in Cowlitz County since 2008.  She spent the first seven years of her career running her own law office. She handled family law, estate planning and landlord tenant issues.  Amy spent the next nine years working for the Cowlitz County Prosecuting Attorney’s office in the child support division.  In 2024 Amy returned to private practice, where she is focusing on family law and minor guardianships.

Amy has a passion for helping people, especially children. She approaches each case with kindness and attention to detail.  She recognizes that each case she works impacts the personal details of these families.  She is a strong advocate for her clients. Amy has learned a lot about trauma. Her office procedures are set up to be trauma informed.

Trauma informed means:

  • Keeping the client informed of the process so they know what to anticipate.

  • Being dependable by always doing what we say we will do when we said we would do it.

  • Responding to clients in a predictable time period.

  • Providing resources to support clients’ emotional health.

  • Planning for clients’ safety at pivotal case points.

  • Putting important communications in writing so that client can refer back to the information as often as needed.

Outside of work, Amy loves walking, hiking, reading and spending time with her family.
